Privacy policy
Two things happen on this site: a waitlist form, and basic measurement of how the site is used. This page describes exactly what each one collects, where it goes, and how to get it removed or switched off.
What we collect
- Your email address. Required, so we can send you launch news.
- A Knoxville-area ZIP code. Optional. It only helps us understand which parts of the area are interested.
- Your consent. We record that you ticked the consent box.
That is the complete list. We do not ask for your name, phone number, address, payment details, or location.
What we do not do
- No advertising trackers, no ad networks, and no third-party cookies.
- No selling, renting, or sharing your information with advertisers or data brokers.
- No profiling, and no automated decisions that affect you.
- No attempt to identify you personally from your visit.
Site measurement
We measure how the site is used with Microsoft Azure Application Insights, which runs on our own Azure account rather than a third-party advertising platform. It records page views, roughly how long a visit lasts, how far down the page people scroll, which sections are on screen and for how long, and which links and buttons get clicked.
It also records the kind of technical detail any web server sees: browser, device type, operating system, referring page, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Your full IP address is not stored — Azure discards it after deriving the approximate location. To count returning visits within a session, it sets first-party cookies on this domain. Those cookies are not readable by any other site and are not used for advertising.
If you would rather not be measured, we will not measure you. We honour the Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals: if your browser sends either, the measurement script does not load and nothing about your visit is recorded. You can turn Global Privacy Control on in your browser's privacy settings or with an extension.
How a waitlist signup travels
When you submit the form, it is sent over an encrypted connection to our site host, Microsoft Azure. Azure Communication Services then emails the submission to our internal waitlist address, where it is stored in a Microsoft 365 mailbox. Both are Microsoft services acting as our processors, and both are located in the United States.
How we use it
Only to send occasional Vols Robotaxis launch news, service updates, and early-access invitations, and to reply if you write to us. We do not use it for anything else.
How long we keep it
Waitlist signups: until you ask us to remove them, or until the waitlist is retired — whichever comes first. Measurement data: 30 days, after which Azure deletes it automatically.
Your choices
Email waitlist@volscyberfleet.com to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We will action removal requests promptly and confirm when it is done. You can also unsubscribe from any message we send.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information — including rights under the Tennessee Information Protection Act. We apply the choices above to everyone who asks, regardless of location.
Security
Traffic to this site is encrypted with TLS. Signups are held in access-controlled Microsoft 365 mailboxes. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has submitted an address, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the “last updated” date above changes with it. Material changes to how we use existing signups will be sent to the affected addresses.
